Blank Page Syndrome is so hard! I still do so many of my doodles for my
junk journals on scrap paper and then cut and paste instead of doodling

Finished my doodles from Masha’s class! I added from the Christmas lights down to fill out the page. I always do 2 copies so I can color one set!

Sketchbook is an 8.5x11in, Artist’s Loft, Mixed Media, spiral-bound notebook. Outlines in a Sakura Figma Micron 05, colored pencils from a wide variety of brands.

Only kinda sketches since they are abstract, but the start of a new collection mini art. They are all done on random bits of scrap paper and colored with my army of colored pencils. The left 2 used a Sharpie and Micron fineliner for the lines, the right 4 used Betem paint markers for the lines. I still have more of the monochromatic ones to do.

Posca pens are on my list once the ones I have dry out. I have a habit of preferring ‘cheap’ art supplies over more expensive ones, so unless I can get the expensive ones used or discounted, I tend to start cheap and upgrade if needed. The paint pens are definitely one that I want to upgrade!

I thought about using something with a reference, and likely will for some stuff moving forward, but otherwise I accept it as part of the charm! A weird and small one, but an addition for the hand lettering classes to include numbers (and maybe basic punctuation). I find I sometimes struggle to make my numbers ‘match’ my letters in style.

I love the idea of prompts or challenges. I did Bloomtober this year and had a lot of fun, even if flowers are very outside my comfort zone!

I tend towards print and script, but not brush lettering. I don’t love serifs (I love the look, but hate drawing the serifs!). I love sharp, harsh angles on letters but am enjoying adding flourishes to some letters. I did like the banner class to add something special!

I shared a version of this in my intro, but I tend to hand letter while watching history shows. I letter the keywords, locations, and people.
